Tiklas Falls is one of the best spots you shouldn't skip when you're in Misamis Oriental. The waterfall is located in Barangay Lawit, Gingoog City.
The location of the falls was developed by the city government into an Eco-Tourism Park. The park is well-managed by the local government. The road from entrance going to the resort park is paved, garbage free and sides were planted with different ornamental and non-ornamental flora. Fronting the falls is a public swimming pool and cottages- yes an Eco park! There is a concrete bridge going to the park where you can see the perfect drop of the waterfalls and take photographs. I personally commend the city government and the people of Gingooog City for developing and of course preserving this interesting tourism spot.
Cool winds and beautiful nature welcomed us as we are approaching. There are no food stalls or sari – sari stores in the area so you must bring packed foods and drinks. There are cottages for rent- 100-200 pesos only.
TRIVIA| Gingoog is also known as the City of Goodluck. East of Cagayan de Oro and West of Butuan City, the city's name comes from the Manobo word "Hingoog", which means “Goodluck”. Manobo are the original settlers of the city.
|Part of the 350 meters walk going to the actual drop|
- Strictly NO Littering.
- Entrance Fee is 20 Pesos for Adult and 10 Pesos for children 12 years and Below.
- The best time to visit the falls is from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Lastly, charge your Camera’s battery- promise you won’t stop clicking your cam!
There are no accommodations in the area; you have to go back to the city proper if you're planning to spend a night in Gingoog. There are pension houses and Inns in the city proper.

If you have your own car and coming from any part of Mindanao just look for the signage of Tiklas Falls in Eskina (crossing) Santiago- east of the city proper and 5 minutes travel.

If your coming from Gingoog City proper, ride in a tricycle (8 pesos fare) going to eskina Santiago.
From Butuan City: Be carried by a bus bound to Cagayan de Oro. Travel is 2-3 hours. Tell the driver to drop you in Eskina Santiago or the crossing going to Tiklas Falls.
